If you can’t spoil yourself on your honeymoon, when can you? After the stress and excitement of planning a wedding, it’s good for couples to enjoy their honeymoon vacations. It’s the time to let people pamper you and attend to your every whim. There are so many romantic destinations to choose from, you might have trouble picking one. The availability of flights has made the world a lot smaller.
Everyone loves a honeymooner and when you reach your destination, people will want to make sure you have a good time. Many people have their wedding ceremony in a tropical paradise now, and simply stay on for the wedding. There are lots of travel companies specializing in wedding packages, that organize the ceremony, reception and accommodation for the couple and their guests in honeymoon vacations spots around the world.
Most people going on honeymoon want to relax and soak up some sun. Even if you’re adventurous, you don’t really want to break your leg skiing on your honeymoon. Honeymoon vacations are more likely to involve chilling on a beach and sipping a long, cool drink, with no more exertion than a game of Frisbee. Hawaii, Fiji or Jamaica would be ideal. Alternatively, a romantic city would also be a nice backdrop. The three most romantic cities in my opinion are Paris, Venice and Rome. If I had to choose, I guess it would be Venice. It’s a city that could have been invented for honeymoon vacations. There’s something about the architecture, the sunset over the canals and the flower sellers in the narrow streets. Of course, Italian is the language of love.
If you have the cash, you could take a cruise round the Caribbean islands. The ship would be a luxury, floating hotel. Honeymoon vacations which start the journey on a deluxe private jet are also tempting. That would be very James Bond. The couple could toast each other with champagne above the clouds. A safari is another idea, if you don’t mind bumping along in the back of a Land Rover. It would certainly be a good story to tell the grandchildren.
My personal favorite would be a trip on the Orient Express, the most romantic train ride in the world. We would travel from Paris to Vienna, reclining in plush leather interiors and dining on smoked salmon and truffles. Everyone would dress formally and speculate on each other’s history. As honeymoon vacations go, that would take some beating. When we reached Vienna, we would eat coffee and pastries in a little café to the sound of Mozart. Perhaps I should renew my wedding vows and go on a second honeymoon? You can’t have honeymoon vacations without getting married!
